Custom Chef Coats; Our Lady of Guadalupe Embroidery

In #DBApronsStudio the sewing machine is buzzing along on 6 custom chef coats.  These are stitched from seersucker so they are lighter to wear in hot commercial kitchens.

The embroidery machine is stitching in the background.  I have a new opportunity to display and sell religious needlework.  Toward that end, I am stockpiling one of my favorite images: Our Lady of Guadalupe.

I'll be selling my home goods this weekend in Kingwood at St. Martha's Fall Festival.  It's supposed to be a great weekend to be out and around the city!

Happy Vacation Quilt-Custom T-Shirt Quilt

The Happy Vacation Quilt turned out just splendid! It's a real eye catcher with its bright colors. Such a special way to remember your vacation trips.  It's backed with a cotton fabric and the batting is fleece. Freestyle meander quilting holds the layers together.
This is a lap size about 48 x 60 inches. Labor costs would be $125 with increases for larger sizes. Materials would be the customer's cost. Turnaround time would be a week for the smaller size. This is just one idea of many for a t-shirt quilt. I am willing to design layouts that work with the customer's t-shirts.

Custom Chef Coats

I have an order for 7 chef coats.  Finished the 1st one today.  It's headed to San Antonio for the chef to try before I cut the rest of them.  I am working off an old coat and I made a muslin for him to try on for size before I started this one.  I'm sure by the end of the project these will be a breeze!  I sewed the buttonholes with my embroidery machine.  I am still impressed I can do that!

Elvis Houdini

My two brothers from another mother.  Elvis Houdini was escaping his crate when he first came to live with me.  Now he goes to his crate voluntarily.  He's feeling so much more secure, I guess.  Dog behavior is a little hard to understand sometimes.    I've even caught him smiling lately!

The Beav is always smiling.  Turns out he is the instigator a lot of the times.  I think he likes having a buddy in the house.

Oilcloth Apron

The Humble Apron stitched from oilcloth.

An artist ordered this apron for her messy art classes.  Good idea!

Oilcoth is tricky to sew.  It's a vinyl coated fabric so you can't hit it with a hot iron for a nice flat seam!

Sugar Skull Custom Apron

I continue to reclaim fabrics and use them for meaningful projects.  Here denim was recycled and fashioned into a custom apron.  A Canadian artist recently ordered this Sugar Skull apron.

My aprons are marketed under my company #DBAprons which can be found on the Internet here, here and here.  Message me for your own apron.

We are currently represented by Rodriguez Butcher Supply Company in San Antonio, TX.
