  3. My house was built for the gain of passive solar. In the winter it is great, but in the summer not so much. Several years ago I made some warm window shades to cover the higher clerestory windows and it was just the perfect solution. Now I've added them to the bedroom windows and have figured out a way to add one of these shade to a slide-by window. Being set up for quilting has it's advantages for home dec sewing.

    1. People think drapes are just something hanging on the window but they really have a greater purpose in a home. I love drapes, personally.

  5. It was great to see you posting again, Debra! You were on my mind this week for some unknown reason, and then there you were! Where'd you find that drapery fabric? My son-in-law was trying to figure out how to darken Max's bedroom for naptime and also to provide some cooling in the summer.
