Draperies: Adding Layers of Patches


The process: sewing white fabric patches to almost cover the beige waffle weave fabric's surface.



1st layer of large patches



2nd layer of overlapping patches




Care has to be taken that the surface is not heavy or stiff.  As drapery fabric, it should have body but not be rigid.
The 2 panels are approximately 80 x 100 inches (which includes headers and hems)

Draperies

Design Problem:

Set of Sliding Glass Doors with a lot of light
Want Privacy at Night
Want Sun Reduction during the Summer Months

Requirements:
Full Length Lined Draperies
Use existing white wooden rod

Design Opportunity:
Provided a Waffle Weave fabric
*Has too much yellow/beige coloration for the current room

Solution:
Add Raw Edge Patches to Cover most of the Waffle Weave fabric
Use Blackout Lining for Privacy & Light Reduction
